Its main characters are a green, gullible lyricist and a composer who claims as his big hit a ditty called "Paprika" ("Paprika, paprika, the spice of my life…"). In his acting debut, composer Stephen Sondheim ("A Little Night Music," "Follies") plays a wise-cracking pianist.
