VARIETY REVIEW:
"As this broadcast races for a difference in a new season, guest star Lucille Ball dances, sings and gives the show a hip easiness with her peerless comedic delivery. Her voice-over on production footage from her own production footage from her own show was the closest the show came to the offbeat interest producer George Schlatter desires.
Steve Lawrence himself is humble hip as a host and an extra talent in performance. His vocal style is excellent and the book of mostly show tunes was tasteful. The show uses Charles Nelson Reilly and Betty Walker as cut-in comedy characters.
Joe Guercio's musical backing was particularly good throughout.
