Lt. William Calley is found guilty for his role in the Vietnam My Lai massacre, in which 22 unarmed South Vietnamese civilians were killed. Charles Manson found guilty of first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder for the deaths of seven people, including film actress Sharon Tate. The prosecution argued that while Manson never directly ordered the murders, his ideology constituted an overt act of conspiracy.
