NPR Walter Cronkite
Series - Archival Television Audio |
|
 |
Since February 2002, National Public Radio has solicited and used
originally recorded TV Audio Aircheck Soundtracks from ARCHIVAL
TELEVISION AUDIO, Inc. for a series of specials hosted by Walter Cronkite. Most of Cronkite's CBS-TV contemporaries have
passed away, including such journalists as Edward R. Murrow, Douglas
Edwards, Robert Trout, Ron Cochran, and Eric Sevareid.
This current series of specials, which airs on National
Public Radio on ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, has already broadcast
retrospectives on Sputnik, John Glenn's orbital first flight,
Telstar, the Vietnam Tet Offensive, the 1970 Mideast Air Hijackings,
Krushchev's 1959 New York & United Nations visit, and other topics.
These retrospective historic essays by Walter Cronkite
use the original lost 1950's and 1960's CBS EVENING NEWS WITH WALTER
CRONKITE telecasts, and other original Cronkite CBS-TV programs
which no longer exist as video but only survive as TV Audio in our
peerless archive.
